Nothing untoward going on here. This box references Indian decorative work, Victorian circuses, sideshows and illusion. A vaguely hypnotic rhythm in the lines and patterns invites the eye inwards to the mirrors in the middle of each side. (This is how that elephant and his partner-in -crime have managed to quietly pull off their brazen escape.)
Papier-mache, wire, clay, beads, driftwood, mirror. 6.5 x 6.5 inches, 14 inches tall.
