The robot who decided to paint a picture. Would robots have the need to address problems via the medium of paint, and if they did, would this step closer to humanity signify a leap forward in their evolution, or a major step back? I mean, do robots evolve? and does art exist in it's own right, like geometry and music, or does it only become real when humans use it as a form of communication? I have no idea. This robot has a removable human heart and brain, and when he puts them in, his thoughts seem to evolve faster than his understanding of his own place in the universe and now he is attempting to make sense of it expressively with paint. Here, he is mastering his self-portrait. His early attempts are laid out on the floor. He has glasses he wears to paint but they don't work very well. When he thinks too much human-type stuff, he can take his head off and let his electricity spark freely. It's hard being a philosophical robot.
Wire, papier-mache, wood, metal, plaster, canvas, brush, clay. Robot 8.5 inches with brain in, 6 inches without. Easel 8 inches, canvas 3x3 inches.
